Why Homopolymer Acetal or Delrin is a great plastic for turning on a machine lathe. It is easy to turn, but it does require slow speeds. I have used this material to make Scottish small pipes chanters. I have ordered countless items from Industrial Plastic. The smaller pieces usually ship promptly and everything is always well packed. Between the Delrin and Acetal rods, both materials are very tough and easily machinable, and they have comparable physical properties. They look similar, but in practical use there are some differences that may make one preferable than the other. It also depends on your application.
